Hi, I'm Debbie, the artist behind Debbie J Art.
Originally from Shropshire, I studied Art & Design at Thomas Telford College before swapping rural fields for the vibrant city of Liverpool in the early 1990s. Here, I continued my Art & Design studies on a BA (Hons) Art & Design course at Liverpool John Moores University.
After a brief return to Shropshire, I spent almost 20 years back in Liverpool before leaving my corporate career in 2023. With more time to slow down and reflect, I naturally rediscovered my passion for creating art and embraced a more creative life.
Today, I divide my time between my homes in Liverpool and the South of Spain. With countryside, coastline and wildlife surrounding me in both locations, I have a constant source of inspiration for my artwork.
Nature has always been where I feel most at home. Perhaps that comes from my rural roots.
Through my art, I hope to encourage others to pause for a moment and appreciate the beauty and sometimes the quirky personalities found in nature. If my artwork brings a smile or creates a sense of calm and connection in someone's home, then my job is done.
Meet Rolo my Studio Assistant
This is Rolo, my faithful studio assistant and constant companion.
Whether he’s snoozing by the easel, keeping me company while I work, or reminding me that it’s time for a walk, Rolo brings a little extra joy to every day in the studio.
He’s usually camera shy, although a well-timed treat can sometimes change his mind.
His official duties may be limited, but his presence is very much appreciated.
